Vampire Boudoir
Vampire boudoir has a bad reputation, and it’s deserved — most of it is plastic fangs, fake blood down the chin, and lighting that makes everyone look green. Ours goes the other way entirely. Old-world, bloodless, candlelit, and considerably more seductive than scary.
What is a vampire boudoir session?
A themed boudoir shoot built on old-world gothic staging — deep reds, heavy drapery, candlelight and shadow — rather than horror props. At Blushed Boudoir in Salt Lake City it runs as a $349 mini session on Friday Aug 14 and Friday Sept 18: thirty guided minutes, one outfit, five finished images of your choice.
Bloodless on purpose
There’s no fake blood in this set, and that’s a deliberate choice rather than squeamishness. Blood pulls a frame straight into horror, and horror is a much harder thing to look beautiful in. Strip it out and what’s left is the part that actually appeals — the power, the stillness, the sense of somebody very old and very unbothered.
If you want blood, that’s what Slasher Night and Prom Queen are for. This one is restraint.
The set
Heavy drapery, dark wood, candlelight from low and to the side so half the frame falls away into shadow. Deep reds and near-blacks. A goblet, if you want one. The lighting does most of the work here — chiaroscuro, strong falloff, almost no fill.
It photographs like a painting rather than a photograph, which is why it prints so well large. This is one of the sets women most often order wall art from.
What to wear
- Black or deep red. Lace, leather or velvet all work beautifully.
- Long sleeves are welcome — this is one of the most-covered sets we shoot and it loses nothing for it.
- A strong lip. Deep red or oxblood. It’s the one makeup choice that genuinely changes the frame.
- Fangs are optional and most women skip them. The set reads without.
Who books it
Two kinds of women, consistently. Ones who want something dramatic without wanting to be scary — this is the most elegant of our darker sets. And returning clients who’ve already done something soft and want the other end of the range.
It’s also, quietly, one of the best sets for anyone nervous about how much skin is involved. Velvet, long sleeves and deep shadow do an enormous amount of work.

Friday Aug 14 and Friday Sept 18. Two nights, and then the set is struck until next October. Both nights share the calendar with another set, so pick your date by which set you want.
