How to prep for your boudoir mini session
Thirty minutes. One set. One outfit. You're standing in front of your closet right now wondering which one — so let's just answer that.
Arrive with your hair and makeup already done. Glam isn't included with a mini, and there's no time to do it once the clock starts.

Before you overthink it
Three things you don't need
You don't need to know how to pose
Nobody walks in knowing. Every frame is directed — where your chin goes, where your hands go, when to breathe. Thirty minutes is plenty when you aren't inventing anything.
You don't need to lose weight first
Not one of the 1,500 women we've photographed arrived at the body she thought she needed. The studio closet runs XS through 5X if you want to raid it.
You don't need three options
A mini is one outfit. Pick the one you already feel something in and stop shopping. If you're torn, bring the second and we'll decide in ninety seconds.
Pick one, then stop looking
Boudoir mini session sets and what to wear
Your set is chosen at booking, and the outfit follows from it. Each list below is what actually photographs well in that room — not a general lingerie list.
Bridal boudoir
The Bridal SuiteAll-white four-poster bed, morning light, the room that makes a first-timer relax fastest.
Wear: white or ivory — a slip, a bodysuit, a long robe, or his button-down. Skip bold patterns; the room is already doing the work.
Shop the bridal listRed Room boudoir
The Red RoomRed on red on red, one hard light, the most graphic images we make.
Wear: red, black or bare. Deep reds beat bright reds on camera. Skip pink — it fights the walls.
Shop the Red Room listDark academia boudoir
The StudyGreen velvet, antique books, a brass banker's lamp and candlelight. Reads clothed or barely.
Wear: an oversized cardigan, a men's shirt, tights, a slip under a blazer. Deep green, oxblood, camel, black.
Shop the Study listVictorian boudoir
The Victorian RoomPiano, candelabra, gold frames, a bed that looks borrowed from another century.
Wear: corsetry, long gloves, a sheer robe with a train, anything with lace or ribbon. Ivory, dusty rose, deep wine.
Shop the Victorian listMilk bath boudoir
The Clawfoot TubWarm milk, floating florals, steam and candlelight. The water covers what you want covered, which is why nervous first-timers pick it.
Wear: sheer white or ivory, or nothing. Skip black — it goes flat against milk. Bring a hair tie you don't mind losing.
Shop the milk bath listWet set boudoir
The Rain RoomReal falling water, backlit. You will get soaked, on purpose, and it's the most fun thirty minutes in the building.
Wear: a white tee, a light bodysuit, a sheer slip. Bring a towel and dry clothes for after.
Shop the wet set listMermaid boudoir
The Siren SetShells, pearls, long wet hair and a tail. The most costume-forward set we run.
Wear: the studio supplies the tail. Bring a shell or bandeau top, body chains, pearls. Sea green, pearl, copper.
Shop the mermaid listAmazon links are affiliate links. If you buy through them the studio earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing on these lists is required — the studio closet runs XS–5X and it's yours to raid.

Boudoir outfit ideas by body type
Five lists built around shape rather than size. Find yours, pick one thing, close the tab.
Still deciding? What to wear to a boudoir session goes through every option in the closet.
Booking a seasonal set instead
Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's minis
Seasonal sets run on their own calendars with their own wardrobe lists, and each has a prep guide of its own.
Halloween boudoir minis
Every Friday through October 9, set and look chosen at checkout. After that the sets come down. See the Halloween sets
Christmas boudoir minis
Six sets, every Friday from November 6 through December 11. See the Christmas sets
Valentine's boudoir minis
Ten sets across six Fridays, December 18 through February 5. See the Valentine's sets
Timing, arrival and what happens after
Minis run Fridays only
Every Friday, one set, one outfit. If you want several looks in several rooms, that's a full session rather than a mini.
Your session starts at your scheduled time
Not when you arrive. Minis are booked back to back, so late arrivals lose that time and there are no refunds. Aim to be at the grey door ten minutes early.
You choose five images
Five high-resolution, professionally retouched images of your choosing are included. You can view them the same day or come back for your reveal later — that part is up to you. More images, albums, wall art and folio boxes are available afterward if you want them.
Where to park
629 S State Street. Park in the alleyway behind the building and come to the grey door — that's the client entrance. Text us at 801-797-3156 if you can't find it.
You'll be nervous in the parking lot. Everyone is.
Then hair and makeup are already done, the music is on, someone hands you a drink, and about four minutes in you stop performing and start having a good time. Women tell us the surprise wasn't the photos. It was the drive home.
Thirty minutes is a short appointment. It is not a small thing.
See you Friday.
