A letter from our founder
Why I built a boudoir studio for every body
Nineteen years ago, I was specializing in maternity and women’s portraiture when I photographed a woman who was so unkind to her body — to everything pregnancy and babies had changed about it.
Then her pregnancy turned high-risk, and she was told she could lose her baby, and lose herself. Something shifted in her instantly. All of that criticism turned into the fiercest self-love I had ever witnessed. She asked if we could honor her body in the healing water, with glitter on her stretch marks.
We got so lost in that moment — her loving her body, almost being reborn — that when we finally looked up, an entire crowd had gathered at the water’s edge, just witnessing it with us. It was surreal and beautiful. We both cried. Her baby made it. For years afterward she told me I had changed her life — but the truth is, she changed mine. I knew, in every part of me, that this was my calling.
When I decided to go all in, I didn’t see my own body represented anywhere. The message was loud: boudoir wasn’t “meant” for a bigger body. Instead of letting that stop me, I made it my mission. I was never going to be the photographer who only showcased society’s idea of a perfect body to make her portfolio look impressive. Every woman who walks into my studio learns to love the skin she’s in right now — to stand a little taller and give herself a whole lot more grace.
If we spoke to our best friends the way we speak to ourselves, we’d have zero friends. So why do we accept talking to ourselves that way?
I want my daughters and my sons to see how I speak about myself and the women around me — to know that bodies are meant to fold, bend, wrinkle, and stretch. Those aren’t flaws. They’re the roadmap of our lives, imprinted on our skin.
— Shanna, Founder & Lead Photographer

Why you’re here
You can show up nervous
Maybe you’re getting married. Maybe your body has changed. Maybe you survived a chapter that asked too much of you. Whatever brought you here, something in you is done waiting.
Most clients arrive nervous and almost none have modelled before. You don’t need to know how to pose or feel confident first — every pose, angle and expression is directed out loud, and you see the back of the camera early so you stop wondering how it’s going.

The questions in your head
Boudoir questions we hear most
What if I’m not confident?
Most clients aren’t at first, and almost none have modelled before. Confidence usually builds during the session rather than before it — we guide every pose, angle, and expression, and we show you the back of the camera early so you stop guessing how it’s going.
Will my images be posted anywhere?
Only with your explicit written permission. Private means private. Many of our clients keep their galleries completely closed, and that has never once been a problem.
Do I need lingerie?
No. Bodysuits, sheets, robes, button-downs, sweaters, and pieces from our studio closet all photograph beautifully. Our closet runs XS–5X, so you don’t need to buy or order anything ahead of time.
Is the whole team really all-female?
Yes — 100%, start to finish. Your photographer, your hair and makeup artist, and your client care are all women, and no one else is in the building during your session.
How long does a session take?
Plan on about 3–4 hours from arrival to your image reveal. That includes professional hair and makeup, wardrobe planning, and a fully guided shoot with up to three different looks. It’s never rushed.
Is hair and makeup included?
Yes, with every full session. Two exceptions worth knowing before you book: on a couples session it’s included for one of you, and adding your second person is $100. On the $349 Friday mini it isn’t included at all — clients arrive camera-ready, and that’s what keeps the price where it is.
How much does it cost?
Session fees are $399 for women’s, maternity and bridal sessions, $449 for couples, and $349 for a mini. Images are chosen afterward — ten digital images begin at $800, and artwork collections begin at $1,895. More on pricing here.
Are images included in the session fee?
No, and we say that plainly so nothing surprises you later. The session fee covers the experience. You’ll view a gallery of 200–400 images the same day and choose the ones you actually love.
Do you photograph all body types?
Every one. That’s the reason this studio exists — read Shanna’s letter above. Our wardrobe runs XS–5X and our posing is adapted to your body, not the other way around.
Where are you located?
629 S State Street in downtown Salt Lake City, about 20 minutes from the airport. The entrance is in the alleyway between Decades and The Arcade — look for the grey metal door, and park in any open lot behind the building.
Do you work with clients who fly in?
Regularly — from Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, and across the country. We’ll help you plan timing, wardrobe, and the rest of the trip around your flights.
Can I talk to someone before I book?
Please do. Call or text (801) 797-3156, or book a free consult — no pressure, no commission, just answers.
Not ready to book yet?

Come as you are
You don’t need to feel ready. Just curious.
Over 1,500 women have walked through that grey door not knowing what to expect. Not one of them regretted it.
