Postpartum Boudoir: Honoring the Body That Did the Impossible

Maternity boudoir celebrates the bump. Postpartum boudoir celebrates something harder and more overlooked: the body after — the one that did the impossible and is often the one a woman struggles most to love.

Short answer: postpartum boudoir is a fully guided, private session honouring your body after birth — on your timeline, not anyone else’s. Photographed in a private all-female Salt Lake City studio, it can be as covered as you want, and it’s nursing- and C-section-friendly.

The body after — soft, powerful, real

This is different from maternity

A maternity session is about anticipation. Postpartum is about arrival — and about a woman meeting her changed body honestly, softly, and on her own terms. Stretch marks, a softer middle, a C-section scar, a nursing body: none of it needs fixing to be photographed beautifully. It’s the record of the most extraordinary thing a body can do.

On your timeline

There is no “right” number of weeks. Some women come at six weeks, some at six months, some when a baby is walking. Whenever you feel ready — even if “ready” is really just “curious” — is the right time. Book a support person for the baby if you’re still close-nursing, and we’ll build breaks into the session.

“I couldn’t look at my postpartum body without flinching. These photos were the first time I saw it as strong instead.”

What to wear

Soft, comfortable and easy to move in — a robe, a slip, simple lingerie, or something covered. Nursing-friendly pieces are welcome. Our closet runs XS–5X, and bodies change fast this year, so tell us where you are when you book. The what-to-wear guide has more.

You’re exactly who this is for

If you feel least like yourself right now, you are precisely the woman this session was made for. See the postpartum boudoir page for session details. If it’s your first time, start here, and after weight loss comes from the same tender place. You don’t have to arrive confident. You just have to arrive.

Postpartum boudoir questions

What is postpartum boudoir?

A fully guided, private session honouring your body after birth - stretch marks, softness, scars and all - on your own timeline, in a private all-female studio.

How is it different from maternity boudoir?

Maternity celebrates the bump before birth; postpartum celebrates the body after, and a woman meeting her changed body on her own terms.

How long after birth can I do a postpartum session?

Whenever you feel ready - some come at six weeks, some at six months, some when the baby is walking. There is no right number of weeks.

Is it nursing- and C-section-friendly?

Yes. Bring a support person for the baby if you're close-nursing, we build in breaks, and scars and a nursing body are photographed with care.
