“Naughty or nice” sounds like a joke until you’re actually choosing, and then it’s the only question that matters — because it decides your set, your wardrobe, your lighting and how the images feel a year from now. Here’s how to work out which direction is genuinely yours, tied to six sets you can actually book.
Should I do a naughty or a nice Christmas boudoir shoot?
Choose based on how you want to feel in the images rather than how bold you think you should be. “Nice” concepts — cosy knits, milk baths, soft light — suit first-timers and anyone who wants images that feel like them on a good day. “Naughty” concepts — red satin, hard light, deep shadow — suit returning clients and anyone who wants a version of themselves they don’t see every day.
Question one: who is going to look at these?
If the honest answer is only me, go bolder than you think. Women who shoot only for themselves almost never regret going further; they regret hedging. If the answer is my partner, as a gift, go for recognisable over shocking — the frames that land hardest are the ones where he sees you, not a costume.
Question two: what do you want to feel when you open the album?
There’s a real difference between wanting to feel beautiful and wanting to feel powerful. Both are completely valid and they point at different sets. Beautiful lives in soft, warm, high-key light — Fireside and Milk & Peppermint. Powerful lives in hard light and deep shadow — Cherry Cordial and Santa Baby.
Question three: is this your first time?
If yes, choose the set that asks the least of you. That’s not a compromise — it’s how you end up with images you love rather than images you survived. The nice side
Fireside
Oversized knit off one shoulder, wool socks, a steaming mug, firelight. Warm, quiet, fully covered. The gentlest way into boudoir there is.
Milk & Peppermint
Warm milk floated with cranberries, cedar and cinnamon, shot from overhead. Ethereal and almost painterly — beautiful long before it’s sensual.
Milk & Cookies
Flour, an apron, real laughing. Playful rather than sultry, and the expressions are genuine because you’re actually having fun.
The naughty side
Santa Baby
Red satin, opera gloves, tree lights blown to bokeh. Classic bombshell — confident and knowing rather than shy.
Cherry Cordial
Burgundy velvet, candlelight, half the frame in near-black. Grown-up and cinematic. The step up for women who’ve done this before.
Unwrap Me
Bright red seamless, an oversized satin bow, and a joke you’re fully in on. Bold but bright rather than dark.
You don’t actually have to choose one
The nice/naughty split is a useful way to think, not a rule. Most women land somewhere in between and the direction shifts during the session anyway — we start with the safest pose on any set and work toward the boldest, and you stop wherever you want to stop. Nobody has ever been pushed past their comfort in our studio, and the safest frame is always shot first.

Every session is completely private — all-female team, no other clients and no other photographers in the building. Your images are never shared without your explicit written permission, and plenty of women never let us use a single frame. That’s entirely normal and entirely yours to decide.

How do I decide how bold to go in a boudoir session?
Start with who will see the images. Women shooting only for themselves rarely regret going bolder, while women shooting a gift for a partner usually do better with something recognisable rather than shocking.

Completely. Sessions are private with an all-female team and no other clients in the building, and no image is ever shared without your explicit written permission.
