There is genuinely not much to do — that's what makes a mini a mini. Pick your one outfit, do your hair and makeup at home, and show up. Everything below is here so you can stop wondering about it.
What you booked
Your five images are yours to choose from everything we shoot. More images, albums and wall art are available afterward if you want them — nothing you need to think about before the day.
Three things that matter
Come hair-and-makeup ready
Glam isn't included on minis — thirty minutes is all shooting. Do your hair and makeup at home the way you would for a night out you were looking forward to, and go slightly heavier than daylight. Studio lighting is bright and it softens everything.

Bring one outfit
One set means one look, so pick the piece you already feel something in when you put it on. Try it on beforehand: sit down in it, move in it, check it in daylight. If it digs anywhere, size up — elastic marks take longer to fade than you'd think and we only have half an hour.
We start at your time
Your thirty minutes begin when your session was scheduled, not when you arrive. Parking downtown takes a few minutes, so leave earlier than feels necessary. If you get here early, wait in your car — we'll be finishing with the woman before you.

Christmas Tree Boudoir
Santa Baby
The tree lit and thrown out of focus behind you, wrapped gifts, warm bokeh everywhere. The most classically Christmas of the six.
Wear: Deep red satin — a slip, a bodysuit or a bra-and-short set. Long opera gloves are the piece that turns this set from pretty into cinematic, and they cost almost nothing. Bare legs or sheer black.
Skip: Bright postbox red, which goes harsh under warm tree light. Deep red reads richer on camera every time.

Christmas Cookies Boudoir
Milk & Cookies
The pink 1950s kitchen in its holiday edition — flour on the counter, cookies on the tray, a glass of milk. Playful, retro, and the easiest one to laugh your way through if you're nervous.
Wear: A frilly or sheer apron over lace or a simple bra-and-short set. Pin-up energy: soft pink, cream, or red. A ribbon in your hair if you're enjoying yourself.
Skip: Anything severe or heavily structured — it fights the set. This one wants sweet.

Christmas Milk Bath Boudoir
Milk & Peppermint
The clawfoot tub in warm milk with cranberries, cinnamon sticks, star anise and cut evergreen floating around you, lit by candles and steam. The most covered set we offer — the water does most of the work — which is why nervous first-timers keep choosing it.
Wear: White, ivory or blush. Sheer lace, a bralette, or a simple bodysuit. Fabric behaves beautifully in water and sheer becomes softer, not more revealing.
Skip: Black, which goes flat and heavy against milk. Also skip anything you'd be sad to see wet — it's coming home damp.

Dark & Moody Christmas Boudoir
Cherry Cordial
Burgundy velvet, mulberry and aubergine, brass, cut crystal, candlelight. No tinsel anywhere. This is the one that ends up printed large on a wall.
Wear: Velvet, deep jewel tones, black lace. Burgundy, wine, plum or forest. Statement jewellery works here in a way it doesn't on the other five.
Skip: Bright colours and anything novelty — the whole point of this set is that it doesn't look like a Christmas photo at first glance.

Cozy Christmas Boudoir
Fireside
Stockings on the mantel, sheepskin on the floor, firelight, a mug in your hands. Our easiest yes for someone who has never done this before — you're mostly covered and it feels like a Sunday morning.
Wear: An oversized knit sweater falling off one shoulder, thigh-high socks, and something simple underneath. Cream, oatmeal, camel, soft grey. Bring the chunkiest knit you own.
Skip: Nothing, really. This set is forgiving. If you're torn between two, wear the softer one.

Unwrap Me
Deep red seamless, an oversized satin bow, and yards of ribbon. Graphic, bold, and the most magazine-looking of the six. We supply the bows and the ribbon — you don't need to source any of it.
Wear: Red on red, or something simple in black or nude and let the ribbon be the whole story. Clean lines work better here than heavy detail.
Skip: Busy patterns and prints. There's a lot happening with the ribbon already.

The week before
Nails — a few days out if you want them done. Hands end up in more frames than anyone expects.
Spray tan — three days before, never the day before. Fresh tans photograph orange and transfer onto our linens.
Waxing — at least three days out so redness has time to settle.
Water — more than usual for the two days before. Least glamorous tip here, most visible result.
The night before — nothing tight to sleep in. Waistbands and elastic leave marks that take hours to go.
What to bring
Your one outfit, on a hanger so it arrives uncreased.
Any jewellery you want in the frames.
Your lipstick, for touch-ups.
Something loose and soft to change back into. Wear that on the drive over, too.
Finding us
1. Head to 629 S State Street and turn into the alley just south of Decades.
2. Follow the alley east into the lot behind the building. Park anywhere.
3. Walk back west to the grey door and ring the doorbell. We'll let you in.
Coming alone
The studio is yours for your session — no guests, and that includes husbands, boyfriends, partners and friends. He's welcome to drop you at the door, but he waits in the car. It's what keeps the space private enough for you to relax in it.
Still wondering
What if I hate having my photo taken?
Almost everyone who books says this. You'll be posed and talked through every single frame — there is no moment where you're left to work out what to do with your hands. Most women relax somewhere around the four-minute mark.
Can I change my set?
Text us as early as you can. Every set runs every Friday of the season, so it's usually possible — but the set has to be built and lit before you arrive, so we can't switch on the day.
Do I have to be in lingerie?
No. Cozy Christmas works entirely in a sweater and socks, and the milk bath keeps you under the water. Wear whatever level of covered you actually want to be in.
When do I see my photos?
Your reveal is where you choose your five. We'll talk you through timing on the day.
Can I bring my sister or my best friend?
Not into the studio during your session. If she wants photos too, book her a slot of her own — back-to-back sessions on the same Friday are our favourite thing to shoot.
What if I'm running late?
Text us immediately. Your thirty minutes started at your scheduled time, so we'll shoot whatever is left — but knowing early lets us make the most of it.
